In art, as in life, I feel the need to be purposeful about what I do. My making begins with the materials at hand, often collected from the community and environment. I am fascinated with materials and have a penchant for tools, I find endless amusement in trialing combinations of these.

I prefer to use manual techniques to create sculpture and functional design pieces with influence from Modernist design, The Arts and Crafts Movement, Scandinavian and Japanese craftsmanship and the art of antiquity.  I am conscious to demonstrate sustainable values within my practice.

Much of my current work explores themes relating to nature, the environment and symbols of identity.
