Carved Kererū Tail Feather in Rimu

The kererū is a large, plump wood pigeon native to New Zealand, identified by a white breast, iridescent purple-green feathers and red eyes. They are often found flying high in the canopy feasting on fruit from trees such as the Karaka tree.
This piece has been individually hand crafted from a piece of salvaged rimu timber and finished with acrylic paint. It measures 40 x 8 x 1cm and is fitted with a tri-ring for easy hanging indoors. Finished with a beeswax polish which may be dusted with a soft cloth. Not recommended for display in full sun or near heat.
