Kererū Flight Feather in Rimu- 40cm
$300.00
sold out
The Kererū, or native wood pigeon, is another of New Zealand’s most treasured birds. They are large, rotund birds that may be found in the foliage of large trees around the North Island including in the back yards of Kiwi homes. The feathers of the Kererū have a subtle iridescence and are coloured grey-green-purple.
This flight feather has been individually hand carved from salvaged rimu timber and painted with iridescent acrylics to achieve a subtle colour change effect. D-rings are installed on the rear and the feather is ready to hang indoors. This feather measures 40 x 7 x 1cm and had been finished with a beeswax polish. Not suitable for display in full sun or near heat.
