This individually hand crafted and painted tūī tail feather has been carved in matai and painted in many layers to create a lacquer effect. I have attempted to capture the beauty of the iridescent blue-green-black sheen characteristic of the tūī. 

The measurements for this carving are 48 x 8 x 1cm, a tri-ring is fitted on the back for easy hanging. Piece not suitable for display outdoors, in full sun or near heat. Use a soft cloth to dust when necessary.
